The NMAT by is a computer administered test owned by the Graduate Management Global Connection (India) Private Limited (GMGC), a subsidiary of Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). The NMAT by is a 2-hour test containing multiple choice questions. Prior to the start of the test, there will be a 2-minute period for the test taker to agree to the Non-Disclosure Agreement, a 10-minute tutorial and a 3-minute period for section selection and sequencing. There are three sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. Each section is individually timed.
No Ability to Section after Leaving: Test takers need to answer the questions of each section within the allotted section time. Once the test taker completes a section, whether the test taker selects to move to the next section or if time runs out, the test taker will not be able to return to that section. NO CARRYOVER OF TIME: Test takers cannot add the remaining time of one section to other sections. If a test taker completes answering and reviewing a section before the allotted section time expires, the test taker may choose either to revise their answers in the section or move to the next section, but the balance time cannot be added on to the next section timing.
NMAT Exam Pattern 2017 – All the NMAT 2017 aspirants must go through the test pattern before commencing with their preparations. NMAT Exam Pattern 2017 – Details of the 3 Sections
The first section is Language Skills and the time allotted to attempt this part is 22 minutes.. This section will contain 32 questions. In this section, the candidates will be tested mainly for their language and reading skills, and that will include finding errors in given sentences. Similarly, candidates will be asked to rearrange a pair of words to form meaningful sentences, choose the word which is most nearly the same in meaning as the word given in bold and other similar questions. For good score in this part, it is very important for the candidates to know their grammar and also the ability to quickly comprehend and formulate answers related to language.
Aimed at testing the mathematical skills of the candidates, this section will consist of 48 questions. The time allotted to this part is 60 minutes. This section will comprise questions that will demand good mathematical skills and the ability to do quick-oral calculations. The questions in this section will be based on direct applications of concepts and formulae and will have questions from Business Mathematics, Arithmetic, and also Geometry. The candidates are required to practice basic formulae and concepts of Mathematics and also the Sample and Previous year question paper.
As the name suggests, this section will consist of 40 questions and will test the logical reasoning capability of all the candidates. The questions in this section are considered to be comparatively easier to the other sections. The questions here are asked from the topics like Data Arrangement, Coding and Decoding, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, Input/Output analysis, Series and Sequences and questions to test the general intelligence of the candidates. These topics require rigorous practice and the key to getting through this section is to have a basic knowledge of logical reasoning. This section forces the candidate to exert their mental-logical capabilities to the maximum and that is the most challenging part. The time allotted to this section is 38 minutes.
